What Do All the Different Colorway Names Mean?

SVG Article Bottom Torn Edge

What's with all the colorways of SHREDLY shorts being named after people? There's a lot. We know. But that's because there are so many individuals who mean so much to SHREDLY. Naming our colorways after people who have inspired us, impacted or helped Ashley (our founder) and SHREDLY break into the women's mtb scene, is how we say “thank you.” Here are just a few extra special prints and their namesakes.

CAROLINE, RIXFORD - best friends who helped dream up the first SHREDLY women's mtb short

NIKOLI, LAYLA - beloved pooches who deserve all the credit for everything like every good doggy should

OC - friend who lent his garage and photography skills in the early years

DAWN, DSR, G, JTR, JODIE, KAY, G, MAMA, MOLLY, RBW, RRR - family, no words can describe how amazing their support has been from the beginning and we love them so much

BLISS, ANA MARIA - the first people that made manufacturing SHREDLY a reality

SHANNA, TINA, JONESY, JULIE - amazing spirits or role models in women's mountain bike who embody the sprit of what we believe the sport should be

Name: DSR
The DSR is named after Ashley's father, Darrell, who has been one of the biggest SHREDLY supporters from the beginning. The popular DSR striped shorts debuted in 2015. Fun fact: Together, Ashley and her dad built our traveling trailer you see at events!
Blog image behind the color way name AMELIA
Name: AMELIA
Named after the one and only Amelia Earhart to celebrate anyone who casts aside societally norms and blazes their own path. Quick history recap: Earhart was the first woman aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
Name: ANA MARIA
Ana Maria has been our mentor, production manager, and technical designer from day 1. She makes magic happen while putting her heart and soul into helping us try and make the best women's mountain bike apparel available and we could not be more grateful to know and work with her.
Blog image behind the color way name TINA
Name: TINA
Unicorns are magical, and so is Tina Ooley. Tina passionately dedicates her time to teaching and mentoring youth and women mountain bikers through EveryPedal and other programs. Her approach weaves skills learned on the bike into lessons that can be carried into daily life. She's spreading pixie dust by helping introduce youth to cycling who might not have otherwise had access to the sport.
Blog image behind the color way name JONESY
Name: JONESY
Our beloved JONESY (dino shorts) was named after our #1 fangirl Stephanie Jones. Who eventually joined our team and has since been our top model. If you’ve emailed us in the past couple years or attended an event with us, you’ve experienced some of her dino and mtb magic.
